Founded in 2021, GRA Nutra was created by industry veterans who bring together a deep understanding across fermentation, algae, formulation, and commercial development. Drawing on years of collaboration in different roles, the co-founders established GRA Nutra to unite their strengths, experience, and global relationships to deliver natural ingredients.
Our History
Long‑time experts in their respective fields, Guido Schaer and Bruno Sommer Ferreira first met in 2008, sharing a vision to create natural ingredients for human nutrition. Each went on to build and lead companies such as A4F, Biotrend, and Schaer BDS. In 2020 they merged their technologies – fermentation and algae production – with formulation, production, commercial expertise, and industry knowledge, and expanded their management team to include fermentation scientist Akash Mitra and nutrition innovation executive Lynda Doyle, a global expert in science, regulatory, marketing, and commercial strategy. The team has over 75 cumulative years of experience in scale-up and commercialization of fermentation, algae and formulation processes and products, and over 110 cumulative years of industry experience
